"Following recent review and further discussions with the NTA (National Transport Authority) regarding options for improvements to the traffic flows at Spawell Roundabout it has been decided to prepare a Technical Report on the options to be considered.......
".........As part of the report, a pilot study is being undertaken to assess the ability of the pedestrian lights on the N81 to be adapted to accommodate this improvement. This involves a new timing sequence being installed during the course of the next two weeks giving priority to Wellington lane at the evening peak which will be of use in determining the appropriate course of action to improve the operation of the junction. A comprehensive technical report will be produced incorporating the results of this trial and all of the data collected so far using observation, traffic modelling and site specific camera surveys which have been ongoing since October 2013. It is our intention to resolve the traffic problems at this location as effectively as we can".
