  • Original application consisted of 317 units (247 houses and 70 apartments – and almost 600 parking spaces).
  • Three units have been removed in the An Bord Pleanála decision.  One of the apartment blocks (block B) is to be relocated five metres further east (i.e. away from the Woodfield boundary).
  • The proposed entrance from Scholarstown Road is to be omitted. The applicant had looked for a ten year permission – An Bord Pleanála has granted a five year permission.

An Bord Pleanála has granted permission for a development adjoining Woodfield Estate, Scholarstown Road/Boden Park and Stocking Lane.  To see overview map click this link

  • The original application consisted of 317 units (247 houses and 70 apartments – and almost 600 parking spaces).
  • A small number of units (three) have been removed in the An Bord Pleanála decision.  One of the apartment blocks (block B) is to be relocated five metres further east (i.e. away from the Woodfield boundary).
  • The proposed entrance from Scholarstown Road is to be omitted – leaving just two entrances to the development – from Stocking Lane and close to Scholarstown roundabout. The applicant had looked for a ten year permission – An Bord Pleanála has granted a five year permission.
  • There are detailed instructions from An Bord relating to landscaping (including a tree protection order) and the childcare facility.  A construction management plan must also be put in place.  Disappointingly, and critically, An Bord has outlined NO conditions regarding local roads improvements or traffic management..  The full decision is available at this link.

What will happen regarding bus services in the area. They are pretty poor at present. I live in Orlagh and at moment (during school term time) I can just about get on a bus before its too packed to get to work in the morning. I work at 8am so I'm early getting a bus but once it passes supervalu on knocklyon road it is generally full and passes the bus stops, leaving people waiting. There is only one bus the 15 which services this area coming from ballycullen. With all these new houses apartments etc it could mean not being able to get a bus in the morning at all.....
